ABC Music & Me Transition
4 years to 5 years without parents
September – Jumping Beans
The Jumping Beans unit jumps into the rhythms of Latin America! Children will listen to a variety of Latin music styles, play instruments, dance, and investigate the concept of a musical rest. They will move and stop their bodies, explore expressive movement, sing some Spanish words and phrases, and even jump like jumping beans.¡Olé!
October – Join the Parade!
In the Join the Parade unit, everyone gets to be in the band! Children will move to parade and march music, listen to instruments from marching bands, and hear about a boy who creates his own musical parade. It’s all about loud and quiet, too—children will learn the musical terms piano (quiet) and forte (loud), then they’ll explore them in lots of different ways. Come along—it’s time to Join the Parade!
November - All Keyed Up
The All Keyed Up unit immerses children in the magic of keyboards of all kinds. They will learn about the composer J.S. Bach, listen to and learn about pianos, organs, synthesizers, and harpsichords, and investigate the similarities and differences between these related instruments. While they’re at it, they’ll explore staccato and legato sounds: moving and playing instruments, listening to music selections, and learning graphic notation for these concepts. It’s no wonder this unit has them All Keyed Up!
Each month children receive a new set of At Home Materials September, home materials include a home cd, activity guide and a pan flute. The Home CD includes all the songs from the class and a narration of a quieter instrument.October, home materials include a home CD with all of the songs from the class and a narration of Henry’s Parade, plus the activity guide. November, home materials include home CD, activity guide, and a pair of spring castanets.
ABC Music & Me Transitions for children 4 through 5 years of age who are not yet ready for Kindermusik for the Young Child. Annual Family Registration Fee $25.00, Materials Fee $55.00, Tuition Fee $125.00.
ABC Music & Me, created by Kindermusik International, is a new music enrichment program designed specifically for 4-to-5-year-old children without parent. The transition program is offered in 3 monthly units with weekly 45-minute classes including keyboard exploration. Each lesson emphasizes a different area of a child's development: confidence, coordination, vocal expressiveness, careful listening, and early exposure to reading skills.
ABC Music & Me is much more than a weekly class. And your At Home materials are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family. While we plant the seeds of learning through music in the classroom, you will use the At Home materials at home to cultivate lifelong learning.

Since 1994 Kindermusik® of Clayton has provided music instruction to children, from birth to 8 years of age, through a variety of classes in Clayton, North Carolina. The Kindermusik® curriculum teaches an integrated, whole child approach to music education focusing on process rather than performance. It is a unique program of music learning and enjoyment that nurtures the total development of the young child. An integral part of each child’s experience is the focus on family interaction during class and the encouragement to continue the learning experience during the week, at home, so that music becomes a natural and important part of family life. Kindermusik® of Clayton believes the parent to be the ultimate teacher and provides appropriate instruction and guidance for the parent to be successful in a musical environment. Kindermusik® of Clayton will provide each participant quality instruments and materials that are recommended by Kindermusik® International as a part of the Kindermusik® requirement.
